First week in Denmark

So, first week here is over and lot’s of things happened.

The tour here was quite troubleful. My fathter and me, we started in Wismar on Tuesday. After the first 120km the car of my father broke. We needed to wait 2 hours for the repair service to escort us to Volkswagen so my father gets his car repaired. It was damn cold, especially because my fathers car didn’t want to start, so he sat 2 hours in a cold car …

Afterwards, in Germany, everything went fine. But when we entered Denmark, it started getting worse again. It got dark (because we lost 3h in Germany) and it started to snow terribly. It was a really unpleasant drive and I would never do this again if it’s not absolutely necessary. We arrived here at 9 in the evening.

Next day, he went back to Germany quite easy and I started to work with my group. I’m really lucky with my group because everyone is really nice, open-minded and passionate about the project. I didn’t got to produce code until now, more doing engineering, research, modeling and forging an architecture. Next week will be more productive. I also had some problems again installing OpenGL and the proprietary graphics driver of NVIDIA on my Linux laptop. I crashed xterm one day and it took quite some time to recover it.

On Thursday we did some socializing in the evening which was great. Adela brought a strategic RPG board game with her which we played for hours. Have to repeat that 🙂

On Friday, I joined Rolf and his danish group of friends for the typical friday eve parties. This was great to get to know more people and also to get to know some of my colleagues. But I, as always, drunk a LOT of rum and dark beer, so saturday was recover-only. Didn’t do anything there.

Today, I had a dinner with my nice Italian neighbour. She made pasta (I LOVE PASTA) and we had a nice talk and eve – have to repeat this too.

Now, I will do some marking for my letter box, perhaps game a bit or watch video.
